Nomenclature of Ionic Compounds

The names and chemical formulas of compounds are essential vocabulary in chemistry. The system used in naming substances is called chemical nomenclature. In this course, students will learn how to identify ionic compounds, distinguish ionic compounds from molecular compounds, and use the basic rules of nomenclature to name ionic compounds Prerequisite: Identifying the names and symbols of the first 36 elements of the periodic table
